FOLLOWING “SEAS” FARM
Sustainable Ethical Agricultural Stewards
After spending over 20 years serving our country in the military, our family is settling down and growing roots on Following Seas Farm with a mission to be stewards of the land. There are two meanings behind why we chose our farm name. Fair Winds and Following seas is a term that is said to members retiring from one of our sea going services. A Following Sea is the sea current that is going the same way as the ship, making for smooth sailing. With prayers for smooth sailing on our farm, we see ourselves being Sustainable Ethical Agricultural Stewards “SEAS” of the land and animals that we oversee. With a commitment to regenerative practices, we will be raising healthy animals, growing healthy plants while regenerating our soils - with a vision to promote the growth of real foods not only for our own family but also for those in our surrounding communities. We also have a commitment to serve Veterans by offering a safe place to offer a positive and productive pathway towards affirming dignity, self esteem and purpose by spending time on the farm, getting hands dirty and digging into hearts and minds.

MEET OUR ANIMALS
The Hoover’s have a farm and on that farm we have cows, a wide variety of chickens, ducks, geese, Guinea hens, St. Croix hair sheep, kune kune pigs, brush eating goats, turkeys, two red footed tortoises, honey bees, two livestock guardian dogs, Bay and Harbor and our family farm dog, Lilo. On our farm, chicken math is a real thing…. Our flock ranges from 75 to over 300 depending on if we have meat chickens on the farm. We will be adding more animals, diversity in animals with constant movement on the farm is key to building healthy soils.
